The KC-46A System Integration Lab provided an approximately 49,200 SF, two-story facility built inside Building 9001, constructed using new drilled piers and an independent structural steel framing system.
The facility includes laboratory space with engineering development workstations, an integration and test laboratory, computer rooms with raised flooring, and a high bay area for system mockups. The laboratory is a secure space and meets the requirements of UFC 4-010-05 SCIF/SAPF Planning, Design and Construction, and is protected from both electronic and physical intrusion detection. The facility supports KC-46A software sustainment and modernization.
LDG served as the overall Designer of Record on this design-build project and provided design management, architecture, interior design, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services.
