Larson Design Group (LDG) provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering as part of a project team for the design of CNG-compliant upgrades to a repair garage and fueling shelter for the Central Arkansas Transit Authority (CATA), now known as Rock Region METRO. The 35,000-square-foot repair garage included a new heating system, emergency exhaust, and a methane detection system. Welding outlets were integrated with the methane detection system to automatically disconnect upon alarm. The fueling shelter was designed to provide shelter from rain and snow while still allowing CATA to classify the fueling site as “outdoor fueling.”
