Sustainability in design has recently become a hot topic for inclusion in building projects, but many of the materials and methods – such as water conserving appliances, recycled materials, and day lighting – have been in use for a long time. These methods, and certification from the LEED Green Building Rating System™, help reduce the negative impacts that buildings place on the environment while increasing the health and productivity of its occupants.
