LDG Wins Honorable Mention at the 2008 Canstruction® Competition.
The Central Pennsylvania Canstruction®, sponsored in part by Giant Food Corporation, Project S.H.A.R.E., and Channel WHTM 27 in Harrisburg, was held February 21 at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, and the awards ceremony was February 23 at the Wildwood Conference Center, Harrisburg Area Community College. LDG’s display, appropriately titled “Bridge Over CAN-died Waters”, took an honorable mention award.
23rd Annual County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (CCAP) Road and Bridge Safety Award
The Montour County Commissioners have received the 2007 CCAP Annual Safety Award for Montour County Bridge #17. The new bridge, designed by the structural engineers at Larson Design Group, eliminated the approach and bridge width safety issues, and reduced flooding concerns. Harold Hurst, Montour County Commissioner speaks out about LDG, "I have the highest regard for the professionalism, efficiency, and responsiveness of the engineers of Larson Design Group. Their understanding of the challenges of local governments makes them the first choice for projects of this type."
Larson Design Group Receives a National Award
Larson Design Group (LDG) was recently recognized on CollegeGrad.com, the #1 Entry Level Job Site, for having one of the top 200 internship programs in the country. This award not only helps LDG to attract quality applicants for employees, but it also helps the area retain the students who assume they can only find a quality work experience in a larger metropolitan area. Internships are of vital importance to students graduating from college because they provide them with on the job training that many companies require before they will consider an applicant for a position. Some other companies that were on the list include: Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Microsoft, and Kohl’s Department Stores.
